What are Fortnite Sprites?

Fortnite Sprites are collectible battle companions introduced by Epic Games in Chapter 7 Season 3, known as Runners. During a match you find a Sprite in a Sprite Chest or through other in-game methods, then extract it at an Extraction Site, with a Portable Extractor, or by winning a Victory Royale. Once extracted, you keep the Sprite permanently and can summon it in future matches by spending Dust.

There are 16 Fortnite Sprites across four rarities: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. Each Sprite grants a unique passive ability while active, ranging from shield regeneration and stealth cloaking to loot buffs and health siphon on eliminations. Sprites also come in visual variants, including Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy forms, each requiring additional Dust to summon.

Sprite Dust is the in-game currency used to summon Sprites. You earn it by playing matches, completing challenges, and participating in limited-time events such as Power Hour, Mastery Monday, and the weekly Thursday Sprite drops. Rarer Sprites and premium variants cost significantly more Dust, making Mythic Sprites like the Zero Point Sprite among the most sought-after collectibles in Fortnite Chapter 7.

How Fortnite Sprite collection works

    Find a Sprite during a match

    Sprites appear inside Sprite Chests scattered across the map, inside standard chests, and in special locations tied to specific Sprites. For example, the Fishy Sprite can also be obtained by fishing, and the Striker Sprite drops by scoring a goal at the Soccer Pitch POI.

    Extract it to keep it permanently

    Finding a Sprite in a chest does not mean you own it. You must extract it before the match ends. Head to an Extraction Site on the map, use a Portable Extractor item you have picked up, or earn a Victory Royale to extract all Sprites you found that match. Failing to extract means losing the Sprite.

    Earn Dust to summon your Sprites

    Dust is earned through normal play and special events. Rare Sprites cost 100 Dust to summon, Epic Sprites cost 3,000, Legendary Sprites cost 5,000, and Mythic Sprites cost 7,500. Premium variants such as Gold and Gummy cost significantly more. Participate in Power Hour, Mastery Monday, Galaxy Hour, and the weekly Thursday Sprite drop events to earn bonus Dust faster.

    Collect rarities and variants to build your Sprite collection

    After summoning a Sprite it stays active in your matches until dismissed. You can pursue Gold, Gummy, or Galaxy variants of the same Sprite for cosmetic variety. Holofoil and Gem variants exist in the game data but are currently disabled. Some variants are extremely rare: the Gummy Zero Point Sprite had only one confirmed owner in the community as of June 2026.

Sprite Dust is the in-game currency spent to summon Sprites you have already extracted. The base cost is 100 Dust for Rare Sprites, 3,000 for Epic, 5,000 for Legendary, and 7,500 for Mythic. Premium variants like Gold and Gummy cost more: Gold and Gummy Rare Sprites cost 4,000 Dust each, while Gold and Gummy Mythic Sprites cost 15,000. You earn Dust through match play, challenges, and events like Power Hour and Mastery Monday.

What are the rarest Sprites in Fortnite?

The three Mythic Sprites are the rarest: Zero Point, Burnt Peanut, and Grim Reaper, each costing 7,500 Dust to summon. Among variants, the Gummy Zero Point Sprite is considered the rarest item in the current Sprite collection: only one confirmed owner existed as of June 2026. The Gold Zero Point Sprite has a community-estimated drop rate of approximately 0.009 percent. Drop rates are community estimates; Epic Games does not publish official figures.
