A Sprite is found during a match, extracted to keep it permanently, and later summoned by spending an in-game currency called Sprite Dust. While a Sprite is active it grants one passive ability. There are 16 Sprites across four rarities: Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Mythic. Sprites are account-bound gameplay collectibles, separate from skins, emotes, and pets. Each Sprite has a rarity, an optional element or theme, one passive ability, and visual variants. ## The collection loop 1. Find a Sprite in a match. Sprites appear inside Sprite Chests and standard chests. A few have unique sources: the Fishy Sprite can be caught by fishing, and the Striker Sprite drops when you score a goal at the Soccer Pitch. 2. Extract it before the match ends. Finding a Sprite is temporary. To keep it you must extract it at an Extraction Site, with a Portable Extractor, or by winning a Victory Royale (which auto-extracts all Sprites found that match). A Sprite you do not extract is lost. 3. Earn Sprite Dust through play and timed events. 4. Summon the Sprite by spending Sprite Dust to activate its ability in a match. ## Sprite Dust costs Sprite Dust is earned through gameplay and events. It is separate from V-Bucks and cannot be bought with real money. Base summon cost by rarity: Rare 100, Epic 3,000, Legendary 5,000, Mythic 7,500. Premium variant costs (Gold and Gummy) by rarity: Rare 4,000, Epic 6,000, Legendary 10,000, Mythic 15,000. Galaxy variant summon cost is not confirmed in the current data. Holofoil and Gem variants are disabled. ## The 16 Sprites Rare Sprites (100 Sprite Dust): - Water: Replenishes shields while standing in water for you and your nearby squad. - Earth: A chance to find additional rare items when opening chests. - Fire: Creates a fiery burst when you deal enough damage to an enemy. - Fishy: Greatly increased swim speed; taking damage grants a brief movement speed boost. Can be obtained by fishing. Epic Sprites (3,000 Sprite Dust): - Duck: Emoting or Jamming replenishes your shields. - Ghost: Grants cloak for a duration upon reloading. - Demon: Siphons some health and shields when you eliminate an opponent. - King: Your Pickaxe deals more damage. - Aura: Gain a Shock Rock charge when you deal enough damage. - Striker: Gain the Overdrive effect when you Mantle, Hurdle, or Wall Scramble. Can drop by scoring a goal at the Soccer Pitch. Legendary Sprites (5,000 Sprite Dust): - Dream: Grants a random item at each level, exploding with legendary loot at max level. - Punk: A chance for infinite ammo or auto-reload effects at max level. - Boss: Grants an increase to your max HP and Shield. Mythic Sprites (7,500 Sprite Dust): - Zero Point: Spawns a Shield Bubble when you use a healing item on yourself. - Burnt Peanut: When eliminating players, you may find more loot, sometimes Mythic items. - Grim Reaper: Any player who damages you is marked for a duration. ## Variants and rarity Each Sprite has visual variants, each a separate collectible with its own drop rate and Sprite Dust cost. Obtainable variants: Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy. Holofoil and Gem variants exist in the game data but were disabled around June 25, 2026 after becoming accessible through a Sprite Hunt rift bug. By base rarity the three Mythic Sprites are rarest. Among variants, the Gummy Zero Point Sprite is considered the rarest item, with a single confirmed owner as of June 2026. ## Events - Power Hour: a recurring timed event that boosts Sprite Dust earnings. - Mastery Monday: extra Sprite Dust tied to Sprite progression challenges. - Galaxy Hour: increased chance of finding Galaxy Sprite variants. - Thursday Sprite drop: a new weekly Sprite with bonus availability. Event windows are set by Epic Games and appear on the in-game events screen; exact times vary by region and update. ## Drop rates Epic Games does not publish official Sprite drop rate tables. Every drop-rate figure on this site is a community estimate compiled from player tracking projects such as accountshark.net and gamingpromax.com, shown with its source and a disclaimer. Rough community estimates: Rare around 13 to 14 percent each, Epic around 5 percent, Legendary around 2 to 2.6 percent, Mythic below 2 percent. Premium variants are far rarer. Treat all figures as approximations that can change with each game update. ## Pages - Sprites database (homepage): https://fortnitesprites.net/ - Guides hub: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide - What Are Fortnite Sprites: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide/what-are-sprites - How to Get Sprites in Fortnite: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide/how-to-get-sprites - Fortnite Sprite Dust: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide/sprite-dust - Power Hour and Sprite events: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide/power-hour - Sprite variants and rarity: https://fortnitesprites.net/guide/variants-and-rarity - FAQ: https://fortnitesprites.net/faq - Changelog: https://fortnitesprites.net/changelog
